The Review of Intellectual Property Law (RIPL) is comprised of the top students from UIC Law. I served as the Managing Editor for Volume 21 of the journal. In its latest rankings, Washington and Lee ranked RIPL the number 3 journal in the world for IP law. During my time as Managing Editor, I remained committed to ensuring we accepted quality articles and refined them through the editing process to maintain the quality of the journal.
I founded the International Business and Trade Law Society (IBTLS) at John Marshall in order to provide students with more opportunities to learn about the rapidly expanding area of international law. For two years, I served as the President of the club and handled our regular meetings and scheduling our special events.
During my final semester at UIC Law, I served as a 711 licensed extern at the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office. I provided assistance for attorneys with drafting and research, in areas that included employment law, civil procedure (federal and state), mental health law, zoning, tax law, ethics, foreclosures, and the lllinois Open Meetings Act. I also was given the opportunity to handle multiple hearings and bench trials which granted me invaluable courtroom experience.
I’ve conducted work for The Chicagoland Law Firm from the completion of my 1L year to the end of the summer after my 2L year. I provided assistance for attorneys with drafting, research, marketing, and technology. I also assisted with legal research and drafting throughout the criminal defense process, used VBA to simplify daily work flows in the marketing process, and created an internal site for the firm.
